SOPRANOS star Joe Pantoliano tells the WASHINGTON POST that the organizers of the Columbus Day Parade are 'hypocrites' for barring cast members of the hit HBO series from the annual New York City event.
'I don't know about this Christopher Columbus parade that is basically
celebrating
some guy who 500 years ago went out to find the Indies and instead found
America and
then killed all the Indians,' fumes Pantoliano to Lloyd Grove in Friday's 'Reliable Source'.
Pantoliano, who plays murderous wise guy Ralph Cifaretto, blasts the Columbus
Citizens
Foundation and the D.C. based National Italian American Foundation, which supports the ban.
'They want him to be their role
model? God
bless them. So now they're using our show to shine a spotlight on their cause.
'I
personally feel that they're hypocrites.... These people need to wake up and smell the cappuccino.'
