FIRST HUMAN CLONE, AGAIN; SCIENTIST TO PLANT 'ELECTRIFIED' EGG IN WOMB
Move over Brigitte Boisselier!
Amid conditions of the utmost secrecy, the controversial American infertility expert Dr. Panayiotis Zavos will, in a few weeks' time, don his surgical mask, gloves and gown, open a medical refrigerator in a laboratory somewhere in the Middle East and take out a tiny glass dish containing a minuscule living human embryo -- an embryo which represents the world's first "documented" case to create a cloned human child!
In an action that is certain to ignite complete outrage around the world, the 58-year old doctor is endeavoring to create an identical genetic copy of a living individual, chronicled by television cameras and to be opened to independent scrutiny.
Zavos has allowed the veteran British filmmaker Peter Williams, who documented the creation of the world's first in-vitro fertilization baby - Louise Brown - back in 1978, to chart the entire process over two-and-a-half years.
A wealthy 46-year- old American woman has provided her DNA for the creation of her cloned child, according to a report this weekend out of London.
First, a human egg was harvested from a woman's ovary.
Its nucleus was removed, so that it was effectively an empty shell. Next, a cell was taken from the woman who wants to be cloned, and the genetic material from her cell is injected into the wall of the empty egg.
Then came the 'Frankenstein' element, reports the DAILY MAIL. "The empty egg was stimulated to accept the genetic material by a jolt of electricity, in effect to persuade it to think that the injected DNA was a male sperm."
"This small electric shock makes them fuse,"explains Zavos.
The egg then began to turn into cells that multiplied into the beginnings of an embryo. The resulting fertilized egg that Zavos says he intends to implant in a few weeks time is ten cells in size, and will be implanted into the surrogate mother's womb.
"This appears to be everything Ms. Boisselier, the Raelians and Clonaid were not," says a source close to the production.
There is compelling evidence that Zavos has indeed succeeded in creating a cloned human embryo that has grown to ten cells in size and which is now frozen in his secret laboratory, claims the report.
