FROMABCNEWS PRESIDENT DAVID WESTIN:
Our beloved colleague Jackie Judd has been given one of those offers she simply could not refuse. The Kaiser Family Foundation will today announce that Jackie is becoming a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Foundation. Among her many new projects, Jackie will help design a new initiative to educate journalists from around the world about public health issues. This new position allows Jackie to bring together her long standing interests in health care and journalism education, and the Foundation is very lucky indeed to have convinced Jackie to accept this wonderful position.
Over Jackie's 16-year career with ABC, she has won every major journalism award and has redefined what it means to be a beat reporter. Her commitment to reporting important stories has never wavered and her tenacious coverage of the health care and pharmaceutical industries has consistently set her apart from the competition.
Jackie's many assignments have included covering Capitol Hill and the Supreme Court. She has broken countless stories for ABC News during her reporting of major national events including the impeachment scandal and the Florida recount. Jackie also covered the presidential campaigns of Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Dan Quayle, Michael Dukakis and Bill Bradley.
Jackie has not only been a tireless reporter but a wonderful friend to many of us at ABC News. Please join me in wishing Jackie continued success in her new position.
