This is the teen the jury watched in a California courtroom last week. Is he a brave young man who is simply telling the truth and finally facing down the King of Pop? Or is he lying under oath -- and himself committing a crime -- because his mother is coaching him, as defense attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. claims? If the defense is right that the boy's allegations are another performance, he could be traumatized for years, said Tom Lyon, a University of Southern California law professor who specializes in child abuse. "He's likely to turn out better if he was molested," Lyon said. "If he's lying because his mother's coaching him ... you have a boy who would be undergoing a really serious conflict. I find that a much more terrifying prospect." But if Mesereau is wrong, and Michael Jackson is convicted of molestation, Jackson will spend every day locked up at California's Corcoran prison with Charles Manson, Sirhan Sirhan and a serial killer who murdered 25 people.
