According to Nielsen Media Research data and NBC, "Meet the Press with Tim
Russert" was the No. 1 Sunday morning public affairs program, winning
the 2006 calendar year in all categories, marking the broadcast's ninth
straight year as the top-rated Sunday show (1998-2006). For the year,
"Meet the Press" averaged 3.768 million total viewers, an impressive 33%
advantage (+926,000) over second place CBS "Face the Nation's" 2.842
million, a staggering 51% lead (+1,265,000) over third place ABC "This
Week's" 2.503 million, and 183% more (+2,438,000) than FOX "News
Sunday's" 1.330 million.
